Avcılar is best known for trade fairs and business trips, but this district on the Sea of Marmara has plenty to explore in the evenings or on a free day.
The Avcılar seafront
Avcılar seaside park is a 10–12 minute walk from the hotel, with promenades, benches and sunset views over the sea: perfect for an evening stroll.
Küçükçekmece Lagoon
East of Avcılar, Küçükçekmece Lagoon opens onto the Marmara and is a lovely spot for birdwatching and a quiet walk. The historic bridge and parks around Küçükçekmece are worth a look too.
Florya: beach, mansion and woods
- Florya Atatürk Marine Mansion: a historic summer house built over the sea, open as a museum.
- Florya beach: a long seaside promenade with cafés.
- Florya Atatürk Forest: a green break inside the city.
Aqua Florya and the Istanbul Aquarium
About ten minutes by car. A shopping centre and aquarium in one, and a lifesaver on rainy days, especially with children.
